What does "Unverified" mean?
Solflare labels a token as Unverified when it doesn't yet meet the criteria our system uses to confirm it's legitimate.
Why is a token showing as Unverified?
A token can be flagged as Unverified for a few different reasons:
It's brand new. The token was minted less than 24 hours ago, and hasn't been on-chain long enough to be indexed and verified.
Low liquidity or trading volume. There isn't enough liquidity and/or trading activity behind the token to generate a reliable price.
Low holder count. The token hasn't yet reached the minimum number of holders needed for verification.
Lack of organic on-chain volume. The trading activity behind the token doesn't show enough genuine, organic volume, which can happen with low-activity or artificially inflated tokens.
A token can trigger one or several of these at once.
Does Unverified mean the token is a scam?
Not necessarily. Unverified simply means the token hasn't yet met our thresholds for reliable price data. Plenty of legitimate, newly launched tokens will show as Unverified in their first hours or days. That said, it's also the same window where low-quality or malicious tokens tend to show up, so it's worth being cautious.
If you've received a token you don't recognize and didn't request, treat it carefully:
Don't interact with it (don't visit linked sites) unless you're confident about its source.
Double-check the token's contract address against official sources if you're unsure of its legitimacy.
Will the Unverified tag go away?
Yes, if the token gains enough liquidity, holders, age, and organic trading volume over time, it will automatically meet our verification criteria and the tag will be removed, along with accurate price data.
