Why Can't I Open a Position? (Geographic Restrictions)

What "region-restricted" means, and what you can still do.

If you're seeing Perps actions greyed out or blocked, it's most likely because of a geographic restriction. Solflare applies this at the point you try to open, increase, or adjust a position — not by hiding the feature entirely.

Restricted regions

Access to opening or modifying perps positions is currently restricted for:

  • The United States

  • The United Kingdom

  • Sanctioned countries and territories, including: Afghanistan, Belarus, Central African Republic, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Myanmar, Nicaragua, North Korea, Russia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, parts of Ukraine (Crimea, Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk, Sevastopol, Zaporizhzhia), Venezuela, and Yemen.

What's blocked if you're restricted

  • Opening a Long or Short position

  • Increasing an existing position

  • Adding or reducing collateral

  • Setting, editing, or clearing Take Profit / Stop Loss

What still works

  • Viewing markets, prices, and your existing positions

  • Closing an existing position, in full or in part

  • Withdrawing your available Perps balance

  • Any Take Profit, Stop Loss, or liquidation you already had in place will still execute automatically — restriction only blocks you from making new changes, not from things already set up

Note: If you believe you're seeing this restriction in error, contact Solflare Support and let them know your general location. Support can help clarify, though final eligibility is based on regulatory requirements and can't always be adjusted case by case.
